If your business uses resources sustainably and you would like to give your business a leg up, then make sure you enter the 2010 Victorian Premier’s Sustainability Awards.
The Awards are now taking submissions from organisations that
have incorporated sustainability measures into their business or
service, recognising innovation and rewarding outstanding
achievement in the sustainable use of natural resources.
The theme for 2010 explores the issue of rising to the challenge
of change, which acknowledges that becoming sustainable is not an
easy task for business, government and community, but a necessary
one nonetheless. The theme celebrates people who have chosen
to act now and provides inspiration and motivation for others to
tackle the challenge of climate change.
Sustainability Victoria, which manages the Awards on behalf of
the Premier, has seen recognition increase a business' reputation
with consumers, suppliers and government.
Businesses that receive an award have the opportunity to
establish ongoing links with winners from other categories and to
network with the Premier of Victoria, Minister of Environment and
Climate Change, executives from large business, and local and state
government representatives, as well as a range of other
prizes.
The categories for 2010 are small business, large business,
community, products or services and built environment, with new
categories for local government, state government and tertiary
sector.
